In Encounters 6, you had the One Word/ Happy Word project.
In Encounters 7, it was the Number Burst.
This year, for Adv English 8, it's the Identity / Un-Mask Project.
The idea behind this project, which is also the theme of the poems, Cyndi Lauper song, and the Identity video
is that there are times when we hide our true feelings, beliefs, attitudes...
from the people around us.
This is your chance to show the world what you are all about;
what's important to you.
Who are you?
Use the face outline to create a visual portrait of who you are.
Inside the face, include 5–8 colorful illustrations that reveal important parts of your identity—your interests, family, culture, talents, personality, experiences, goals, values, or anything else that helps show what makes you you.
Your finished project should be more than a collection of small objects scattered inside the face. Use the entire space creatively. Your illustrations may connect, overlap, form sections, include backgrounds, or blend together to make the face itself tell your story.
When someone looks at your finished project, they should learn something about who you are beyond the person they simply see sitting in class each day.
