I've been thinking about returning to Scotland for quite some time. Somewhere I've worked up a route that combines the West Highland Way with the Rob Roy Way. Below, however, is a 30-day trip I came up with in 2019. The link at the bottom goes in to more detail.
I've decided to walk ALL of the Rob Roy Way with two detours that will add three days: a trip up Ben Ledi and and a detour to Amulree. The total for this leg of the trip is 103.5 miles.
Then I'll hitch a ride back to Killin to rest for a day and then to Inverarnan and walk the remaining 55 miles of the West Highland Way to Ft. William.
From there, I'll rent a car, and head down to the Mull of Kintyre, hike another 2.5 miles, and return to Ft. William.
Next, I'll cross Loch Lamond for a short 2.5 mile hike around the Glenfinnan viaduct and then explore various spots on the Isle of Skye
The final stretch is a train ride back to Glasgow. If I make some stops and do some hiking, the total trip will be 200 miles of hiking.
Here's the whole route.
