Teacher Appreciation Card
You will make a small folded thank-you card for your favorite elementary school teacher.
Front of Card
Decorate the outside neatly and creatively. You may use color, drawings, borders, or other school-appropriate designs.
Inside of Card
Your message should include these three parts:
1. Finishing Eighth Grade
2. Looking Ahead to High School
3. Why This Teacher Matters
1. Finishing Eighth Grade
Begin by telling your teacher about your eighth-grade year.
Write a few sentences about how the middle school has gone, what you learned, how you changed, or what it has been like for you, things you did, band, choir, athletics, awards....
2. Looking Ahead to High School
Next, tell your teacher what you are looking forward to in high school.
Write a few sentences about what you hope to do, learn, or experience.
3. Why This Teacher Matters
Finally, explain why this teacher was one of your favorites.
Be specific. Mention a memory, a lesson, a kindness, or something the teacher did that made a difference to you.
Closing
End with a polite closing such as:
Thank you,
Sincerely,
or
With appreciation,
Then sign your name.
Important:
Do not just write, “You were nice” or “You were fun.” Make your message personal by including real details.
